Auto Tracking Camera

🎥 StreamGeeks Update – June 2025: Voice-Tracking, Hive-Linked Breakthroughs, and SimplTrack 3 Revealed

Welcome back, StreamGeeks!

May was a whirlwind of innovation, launches, and heartfelt transitions—exactly the kind of momentum we thrive on. From major firmware updates to AI-powered automation and new tracking tech, the video production world is shifting fast. Let’s get into it.

Hive-Linked PTZOptics Camera Setup

🚀 Hive-Linked Firmware Is Here: Remote Production Without Limits

After months of testing and development, PTZOptics has officially launched Hive-Linked firmware for the Move 4K series—and yes, it’s every bit as revolutionary as it sounds.

With just a few clicks on the web interface, you can now link your camera to a PTZOptics Hive cloud studio. After that, you’re ready to manage and control your camera from anywhere in the world. We even tested it in the field using a MR-NET bonded cellular router (no Ethernet, no Wi-Fi—just three SIM cards). The result? Flawless PTZ control, low latency, and production-ready performance.

What This Means for Creators:

  • True remote camera management over cellular networks

  • Production in locations without traditional internet infrastructure

  • New possibilities for sports, entertainment, and event streaming

  • And yes, the PTZOptics SimplTrack 3, Studio 4K and Move SE series is next in line for the Hive upgrade 👀

PTZOptics Voice Tracking

🗣️ Introducing Voice-Tracking (Beta) for Move 4K & Link 4K Cameras

In our mission to make professional video effortless, we’re proud to roll out a powerful new feature: Voice-Tracking, now in beta for PTZOptics Move 4K and Link 4K cameras.

This next-gen tracking system integrates with top ceiling microphone arrays to detect and follow the speaker’s voice using beam-forming algorithms. When someone begins to speak, the camera automatically pans, tilts, and zooms to center them in the frame—keeping your visuals perfectly synced with your audio.

Currently Supported Mics:

  • Shure MXA920

  • Sennheiser TeamConnect2 Ceiling

  • Yamaha RM-CG

  • Nureva HDL410

  • Televic Confero

Ideal for: education, corporate presentations, and live events where hands-free, voice-driven automation adds both polish and professionalism.

🤖 AI + Computer Vision = Smarter Factories

We recently caught up with the team at Detect-IT, who are using PTZOptics cameras in cutting-edge ways. Their setup involves projecting real-time defect detection results directly onto the assembly line using AI and projectors. Think: step-by-step guidance, visual overlays, and instant verification—all powered by computer vision.

It’s not sci-fi anymore. This is next-gen industrial automation, and it’s happening now.

Tess Protesto Joins Vizrt

🎤 Farewell, Tess — But Not Goodbye

After years of shaping StreamGeeks into what it is today, Tess Protesto is off to an exciting new chapter at Vizrt. She’s been an irreplaceable part of our journey, and though we’ll miss her behind the mic and camera, we’re cheering her on as she heads to bigger stages—including InfoComm, NAB, IBC, and more.

Tess: Thank you for your heart, hustle, and humor. You’ll always be part of the crew 💙

PTZOptics SimplTrack 3 – Dual Sensor Auto Tracking Camera

🎯 InfoComm Sneak Peek: SimplTrack 3 with Intelligent Hold Zones

Get ready for a game-changer in auto-tracking technology. PTZOptics is unveiling the SimplTrack 3 at InfoComm—a Dual-Sensor Auto-Tracking Camera designed for precision and flexibility.

What’s New in SimplTrack 3:

  • Dual-lens system: One lens tracks your subject, while the second defines precise zones for smarter automation.

  • Smart “Hold Zones”: Not just blocking zones—these new zones pause tracking when the subject walks into them, allowing them to stay framed perfectly (e.g., while at a whiteboard).

  • The camera stays still while the subject moves freely within that zone. Once they exit, tracking resumes automatically.

Perfect for lecture capture, worship spaces, and hybrid studios, this is intelligent automation at its finest.

💬 Let’s Stay Connected

We’re just getting started. With new features, firmware, and industry events on the horizon, there’s never been a better time to explore what’s next in live streaming and AV automation.

Got a project to share? Want to show off your Hive-Linked setup? Tag us—we’re always watching (with PTZ cameras, obviously).

🎟️ See you at InfoComm!
