4-Port SDI M2 Card in Intel NUC

Geek Update: Hey guys, you may have looked back at a few of our other videos outlining the possibilities of installing a 4-Port SDI input card using the extra M.2 Slot in the Intel NUC Hades Canyon. Well, we finally got in our custom lid from GoRite.com and everything is now working smoothly. 4-Port SDI M.2 Card w/ Custom Lid for Intel NUC

First of all, the M.2 4-Port SDI card we are using is called the Eco Capture Quad SDI Card which captures SD/HD/3G/2K SDI x 4 + embedded audio. We chose this M.2 capture card for a variety of reason but specifically for its reliability. Here are some features on the video engine:

  • 10-bit video processing
  • Deinterlace
  • Cropping
  • Color Adjustment
  • Hardware Timestamp
  • Color Space Conversion
  • Up/down Conversion
  • Aspect Ratio Conversion
  • SG-DMA Transmission mode

Now for the Custom SDI Intel NUC Lid

Now the custom SDI Intel NUC lid is unique and currently still being designed. I believe this is the first Intel NUC Hades Canyon 4-port SDI lid ever made. This lid will eventually be made available for the public. The company that creates custom Intel NUC Lids is called GoRite and their website is GoRite.com


The Intel NUC Hades Canyon is an amazing product for the price. Fully decked out with 16 GB of Ram, 1TB of SSD, the 8th gen i7 and an AMD Vega Graphic Card is only going to run you a little over $1,400. The M.2 SDI capture card and enclosure will cost almost the same. So at under $3,000 you can build a four-camera video production system that will work with your favorite live streaming software. Pretty amazing, that’s all I have to say 🙂
